About

This is my attempt at articulating what I think and feel about food and wine, a blog dedicated to real food, real drinks, and the people who like that kind of stuff. You won’t find out how to fold a napkin into an elegant shape, and you certainly won’t read about hip places to eat overpriced food and drink $20 kumquat martinis. Hopefully this will be a place where you can come for a few minutes of chat about the stuff that makes us happy and how to make it. Good simple recipes, interesting wine and beer, and occasionally even some restaurant chatter (I promise that it won’t be evenhanded though). I’ll also include links to some of my favorite food and wine blogs and websites. For instance, Tommy:Eats is a great local blog; he writes about restaurants mostly, but isn’t averse to tossing around some good cooking advice. And of course, he likes to eat at the bar, so his blog is definitely a keeper. Professor Bainbridge is another, for very different reasons. Where else can you find good wine reviews and a critique of Sarbanes-Oxley?
